Rear delt fly: how to do it with good form
The rear delt fly trains the rear shoulders, which are often weak and matter for posture and shoulder health.
How to do it
- 1
Hinge forward with a flat back and a light dumbbell in each hand.
- 2
Let your arms hang with slightly bent elbows.
- 3
Raise the dumbbells out to the sides until your arms line up with your body.
- 4
Lower slowly.
Common mistakes
- Weights so heavy you have to swing.
- Squeezing the shoulder blades and using the back instead.
- Standing up taller as the set goes on.
