Reverse lunge: how to do it with good form
The reverse lunge is kinder to the knees than a forward lunge and easy to control, which makes it a good leg exercise for most people.
How to do it
- 1
Stand with feet hip-width, dumbbells at your sides if you like.
- 2
Step back with one foot and lower the back knee towards the floor.
- 3
Keep your weight on the front heel and your torso upright.
- 4
Drive back to the start through the front foot and switch legs.
Common mistakes
- Stepping back too short.
- Weight shifting onto the back leg.
- Losing balance and wobbling sideways.
