Walking lunge: how to do it with good form
Walking lunges train legs, glutes and balance in every step — with or without dumbbells.
How to do it
- 1
Stand tall, holding dumbbells at your sides if you use weight.
- 2
Take a long step forward and lower the back knee towards the floor.
- 3
Drive up through the front foot and bring the back leg through into the next step.
- 4
Keep moving forward, alternating legs each step.
Common mistakes
- Steps so short the knee ends far past the toes.
- Torso leaning forward.
- Back knee banging into the floor.
