The incline push-up, hands on a bench or chair, is an easier variation to build strength with.
How to do it
- 1
Place your hands on a bench, chair or counter slightly wider than shoulder-width.
- 2
Walk your feet back until your body is straight from head to heels.
- 3
Lower your chest to the edge, elbows about 45 degrees from your body.
- 4
Press up until your arms are straight.
Common mistakes
- Hips sagging or piking up.
- Elbows flared straight out.
- Only going halfway down.
