Cable crunch: how to do it with good form
The cable crunch lets you load the abs with weight so they can get stronger, just like other muscles.
How to do it
- 1
Attach a rope high on a cable machine and kneel in front of it.
- 2
Hold the rope at the sides of your head.
- 3
Curl your torso down by rounding your spine, not by bending at the hips.
- 4
Return under control until your abs are stretched.
Common mistakes
- Pulling with the arms instead of the abs.
- Sitting back onto the heels.
- Weight so heavy the movement gets short.
