Barbell row: how to do it with good form
The barbell row trains the upper back and lats and balances out all the pressing work. It also helps posture.
How to do it
- 1
Hinge forward with a flat back, knees soft, bar hanging at arm’s length.
- 2
Pull the bar to your lower ribs, driving your elbows back.
- 3
Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the top.
- 4
Lower under control without standing up.
Common mistakes
- Standing up more with every rep.
- Using momentum from the hips.
