Chin-up: how to do it with good form
The chin-up, with an underhand grip, trains back and biceps together and is easier than a pull-up for many people.
How to do it
- 1
Hang from the bar with an underhand grip, hands shoulder-width.
- 2
Brace your core and draw your shoulder blades down.
- 3
Pull yourself up until your chin is over the bar.
- 4
Lower with control to straight arms.
Common mistakes
- Kicking and swinging up.
- Half reps without straight arms at the bottom.
- Craning the chin to reach over the bar.
