Lat pulldown: how to do it with good form
The lat pulldown trains the same muscles as the pull-up with a weight you choose, which makes it suitable for beginners and experienced lifters alike.
How to do it
- 1
Sit with your thighs under the pad, grip the bar wider than your shoulders.
- 2
Lean back slightly and pull the bar to your upper chest.
- 3
Drive your elbows down towards your sides.
- 4
Let the bar up slowly until your arms are straight.
Common mistakes
- Pulling the bar behind your neck.
- Leaning far back and turning it into a row.
