T-bar row: how to do it with good form

The T-bar row lets you row heavy with a stable grip and builds thickness in the middle of the back.

How to do it

  1. 1

Stand over the bar with feet shoulder-width and grab the handle.

  2. 2

Hinge forward with a flat back, torso at about 45 degrees.

  3. 3

Row the handle to your chest, drawing the shoulder blades together.

  4. 4

Lower with control until your arms are straight.

Common mistakes

  • Rounding the back.
  • Standing up and rowing with the legs.
  • Too much weight and a short range.
