World's greatest stretch: how to do it with good form
The world's greatest stretch moves the hips, hamstrings and upper back in one exercise — perfect as a warm-up.
How to do it
- 1
Take a long lunge step forward and place both hands on the floor inside the front foot.
- 2
Sink your hips and feel the stretch in the hip flexor of the back leg.
- 3
Rotate your torso and reach the arm on the same side as the front leg towards the ceiling.
- 4
Bring the hand back, straighten the front leg to feel the hamstring, and switch sides.
Common mistakes
- Rushing through the movements.
- Back knee sinking to the floor so the stretch disappears.
- Twisting from the lower back instead of the upper back.
